Downloading Blocks
editCan someone please clarify this? They use the term exporting, but it isn't clear whether it means the person uploading or download is the exporter.
Does this mean if you download a file with 100 blocks and you download blocks 1-50 and block 51 is missing, you cannot download blocks 52 -100 even if they're available till you get block 51? Or is this wrong? 99.53.169.153 (talk) 04:11, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Honrea
I don't think
editI don't think we need ht eemule link to download this software. It's considered illegal kind of (not really), but aside from that, wikipedia is not a place to get downloads.--Shinta 19:03, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
But it is a reliable repository of information that won't die. 71.15.46.131 00:20, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- No its not reliable. Anyone could type ed2k link to anything they want, and that ed2k link could be a link to any of a variety of viruses and nobody would ever know. Better to leave it at "it can be found on some other sites" than try to provide easily vandalised ed2k links. Shinhan 05:56, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Can anyone add my italian guide for this p2p? here the link. http://it.geocities.com/hentakuu/Share
Winny hash
editThe following is not vandalism, but an attempt to get the information needed for this article:
WE NEED A WINNY HASH FOR SHARE, PLEASE PROVIDE ONE.
It does not make sense when above it says EX2 is available through winny, yet no information is provided.

Download Links
editAnyone can google. The download links if anywhere should be placed at the end of the article, preferably linking a single page with the information. This is not the place.
Criticism
editThis section is very problematic. It's a problem that most things are in Japense? Well, I think the problem with computers is that most things are in English. We can't write from such an English-centric point of view. Because most things can be criticized because tehy are not available in some language. gren グレン 01:55, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- It is a problem from the point of view of English Wikipedia. Also, you have to admit that English language is lingua franca and most internet users speak english. Although the fact that Share is Japanese program, intended for Japanese users and mostly used by Japanese should not be stated as a criticism. You should follow the Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Shinhan 10:43, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see how a non-English program being in non-English language could possibly be a "problem", not to mention "criticism", even in the point of view of English Wikipedia. I surely don't see anything along that line mentioned in NPOV. And I surely don't see how you come to the conclusion that "most" of internet users speak English, currently China has become the no.1 country in terms of number of internet users, and most internet users in China surely don't speak English. 221.223.133.212 (talk) 08:49, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Share screenshot.png
editImage:Share screenshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
What about version?
editThere seem to be a few different versions of Share, for example this article references "A86", "EX2" and "NT5". How are they different from one another? What does it mean that EX2 is TCP and NT5 is UDP? -- of course anybody doing p2p is supposed to know what tcp and udp are; what I mean is, how are they used in Share, and whether ex2 and nt5 protocols are compatible with each other or not. Oneanother (talk) 10:35, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
The protocols are not compatible with each other, and yes, this should be extended. --85.225.145.111 (talk) 02:10, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
