Contested deletion:
editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it's aim is to document a part of the rapidly reviving art scene in Cairo. Post revolution, that Arts scene in Cairo has scene a great reawakening. Shaware3na is notable beyond a simple exhibition or so, as it tries to take art to public spaces. In Egypt, this is no small feat. We do not have European-style street artists busking etc. In fact, simple photographing public spaces (Especially Government buildings and so) often results in harassment by security forces. Performing pantomime on the metro or screening short films on the street are a break with pre-revolution unwritten rules, they are simple new. I believe, this needs to be documented.
As of current, this project has been running for over 2 months and has been exposed to many people.
Now, I have a couple of comments. First of all, I am not affiliated with Mahtata, any of the Artists or the project in general. This is not meant as advertising. Second, this is my first Wikipedia article since a long time. I would highly appreciate help regarding as to how to make this article fit the standards, rather that a simple deletion. I linked a couple of sources, including newspaper articles. However, I can't seem to loose the feeling of either one resembling a press release; both articles have been printed at the very beginning of the project and are thus not indicative of its actual progress. How do you normally address this? Is there a way to show this project to still be an event in progress?
