Melting Things with her Green Glow

Can anyone cite an episode where Shego melts something? I don't recall the Green glow doing that. Osprey 12:14, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

While I can't cite an episode exactly, Shego melts holes through metal all the time-- sometimes when she misses Kim with a punch and hits, say, a wall instead. If you count that as melting. ekedolphin 07:04, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
She does it at least twice in Two to Tutor. Once to break the lock on a skylight (one of the screenshots in this article shows her about a second before she breaks the lock) and once to slice open an air duct to enter a building. Need any more examples? Redxiv 00:18, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree with your use of the word "slice" to describe what happened. I disagree that any melting was involved. Disney sources describe the glow as causing concussive (not thermal) damage and say that Shego has claws on her gloves. Osprey 00:43, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
I think that Shego has some sort of control over whether the energy is concussive or thermal, which may explain the inconsistancy. Maetch 16:17, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
In Mother's Day, Shego's energy blasts clearly melt a hole in a door when she fires one at Drakken, and in Kimitation Nation she takes her gloves of and has claws underneath.

Shego or She Go

In Team Impossible we find out that Go is actually Shego's surname. Also in Emotion Sickness Shego writes her initials as SG when she writes her loveheart thingy on the wall. Should her name be Shego or She Go??? Jxre 07:10, 22 April 2006 (UTC)ć

All sources indicate that Shego’s name is...Shego. It’s probably best to stick with the current spelling! =D Jumping cheese 07:56, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
There's plenty of fanon regarding Shego's name being some sort of contraction of her first and last names. That would be more logical than she and her entire family not having last names (and her little brothers having the same name), but it's still not canon. Not to mention, unlikely names are pretty standard for this show.
Note: when Ron asked Hego if Shego has a last name, he didn't answer. Redxiv 00:15, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Shego's not even in "Team Impossible"! --Erased Paper 06:54, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Shego is just an alias, not her actual name. If it were her name, it would mean that her parents were named after the city that they lived in (Mr and Mrs Go from Go city) and that they were surprisingly fortuitous when they named their egotistic son Mego and their sons who had not yet gained the power to multiply Wego.

Could somebody explain me...

... how the heck did this supervillain got her powers. Has it ever been said in the show. I am not a big fan of it, but I am curious.

According to epidode Go Team Go, "a glowing, rainbow colored comet" slammed into Team Go’s tree house, giving each of them superpowers. =) Jumping cheese 00:03, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
This phenomenon has been stated on the Disney Channel website as a feature of her clawed gloves, although Hego has stated that their powers were due to a meteor hitting the siblings' treehouse (probably a dramatization).mikey 04:31, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

The Disney site is outdated. --Erased Paper 06:53, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh, sorry, then, uh, I guess Hego's explanation.mikey 16:53, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Seeing as the word "sadistic" in the first paragraph of the article linked to an article about the sexual type of sadism, which I seriously doubt that Shego has, I changed it so that it links to an article about nonsexual sadism. —OneofThem(talk)(contribs) 20:14, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Nice update, now clean it up.

To whoever recently updated Shego's page, I like how you rewrote it, but it could stand to be cleaned up a bit more. Y'know, make it look nice.

Just asking! Maetch 21:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

picture size

Because some browsers handle wiki preferences and settings differently (for example, IE ignoring some thing while Firefox compensates for them), because not all users know what's good for them when they set their preferences (too big, too small, to weird), and because it throws the some paragraphs out of line, I've restored the maximum picture size value.

WP:OR

I know that it's frustrating, but could users please take care to stick to cannon and take care not to read too much into things or to move too far ahead of the script. WP:OR needs some attention even when dealing with fictional character.

KP Cannon - response to message on my talk page from unregistered user

I'm not certain where to answer this, so I'll put it under your initial question and on the talk page.

There have been a lot of arguments over fictional character over the years, particularly with users reading different things into a character based on their own experiences or cultural background (for example, a user empathizes with a character because they come from a similar background or have had a similar experience in life, or a user setting against a character for similar reasons). In order to keep this to a minimum, and to ensure a uniform approach etc, Wikipedia came up with some basic rules and guidelines about cannon, in universe descriptions and other elements (Most of which are not really at issue here).

Put simply, there is some leeway, at least compared to writing about history or science, but it's quite small. In the simplest terms, we must stick to cannon - what is depicted in a KP comic book, episode, or game. However, we must be very very careful to stick to limitations of the script (my main issue with your edits) and not to read ahead any further.

For example on Bonnie's page you said that her attitude was setting her up for bad relationships in the future. This might be true in real life, given her personality type, but unless there is an episode that shows her future self in a bad relationship, you can't say it. You also said that her sisters might treat her mean because she was the youngest child and they were envious of the attention that their mother lavished on her. It might be true in real life, but unless Lonnie says something like "I hate the way mom always pays attention to you just because you're the youngest", then what you've said is supposition rather than cannon and cannot be used

In short, something has to be said more or less directly in the script for us to write it in a character profile. If shego says "I wish I were more like Kim", or "Kim is always showing me up", then the writers have purposefully established her as being envious of Kim or her skills. If they don't then you can't simply look at her actions and say that they are indicative of envy.

I know, it's frustrating. If it helps, you should try not to think of this as a book report or a psychological case study, and more as an exercise in transcription.

We're here to report on what is most blatant on screen. Not to look deeper, not to come up with hypothesis, and not to suggest why something is the way that it is unless it is stated clearly though dialog etc.

Take a quick look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) and Wikipedia:Fancruft for ideas, and then explore the links.

Peace

Contempt V jealousy

Drakken knows that Kim is highly skilled but seems to ignore this when planning his schemes, and he knows that she is all that, insists that she isn't whenever she beats him. This is contempt (calling her an contemptable teen is also a sign).

If he tried to be like her but failed, imitated her style, or mooned around because her hair was better than his, that would be jealousy. The same goes for Shego. he underestimates Kim, but doesn't want to be like her.

perfectblue 10:43, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Shego's claws and energy bursts

We've got a cannon contradiction.

According to the Disney, Shego has clawed gloves and fires concussive energy blasts. However in Kimitation Nation she takes her gloves off and still has her claws (she spears food with them at the beach), and in Go Team Go she fires an energy blast at Drakken (when her brothers show up)and it melts a section out of the big metal door that he is hiding behind.

I'm considering either going to change the page to match the episodes, or to put in a paragraph mentioning the contradictions. What does everybody else think?

perfectblue 19:39, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm going to go with mentioning the contradictions so the readers can come their own conclusions. Jumping cheese Cont@ct 02:03, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Shego & Violence

I think we should stop beating around the bush and just say that Shego's violent. She doesn't give a rat's *ss about people in wheelchairs or whatever. Those are just quirks. Maetch's most recent edit is acceptable to me, but we need to STOP thinking of Shego as somebody who is, at heart, really just a nice girl. It leads to Kigo type thinking, which is just stupid.

=CJK= 06:05, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

This isn't aimed at anybody particularly but "Welll Duhhhh". She is clearly exhilarated by her fights with Kim and she enjoys being feared. HOWEVER, in the situations that you are talking about, she's not actually being nice, she is "not seeing the point" of doing something. She sees some of Drakken's stuff as being "camped up villainy" and as being beneath her.

FYI Kigo isn't "nice Shego", it's often "aggressive lesbian Shego". I've come across (quite by accident I may add, I'm not into Kigo) strips where Shego basically forces herself on Kim like a pedophile. That's not nice by any means. Kigo is often a sicko male sex fantasy.

perfectblue 08:50, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Don't be ridiculous. Kim and Shego's relationship have lesbian undertones out the ass, and the biggest Kigo fan I know is clearly a female. [1] PsychoJosh 12:07, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

A little off topic I know (And I don't intend to rush out and post it on the page), but there have been several things from Disney indicating that there really is a "Girly-Girl" under Shego's hard exterior. For example, according to Villain's house party Shego's biggest desire is "for a new stylist", and she's got a thing about manicures and takes her vacations in spas.

We'll have to see what season 4 brings, but I have a feeling that they are going to "teen drama" up Shego a little like they teen drama'ed Kim during season 3 (which was a little too soapy for some viewers tastes).

perfectblue 08:56, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

If I may say something about Shego, I never said she was a nice girl. However, there are just some lines that even she won't cross. However, when plans start to work in her and her employer's favor, she has nothing but encouragement for the success, such as when Motor Ed's (supposed) plan to destroy Middleton with the Kepler nearly succeeded. Point is, she's a baddie, she's paid to support villains in any way she can, but she's got a small sense of respect for others.

Maetch 17:43, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Of course Shego's ditzy, we knew that already. However, I doubt that she cares about others-- I think she may have mentioned people in wheelchairs and taking candy from babies as being beneath her as a villain, not beneath her as a person. She may have a soft spot for fish and her close family, but that's not much-- certainly not enough of a point to mention on the page. Also, I agree: Kigo is a fantasy of people who have never watched Kim Possible, and who are also probably a little sex-starved.

=CJK= 23:54, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't think that it's so much that she has a soft spot for fish, but more that she simply has more patience with animals than with people. Look at her reaction to Drakken and Puddles in "Rufus V cmdr Puddles". The dog was making a fuss, and she was getting annoyed with Drakken for not dealing with it, rather than with the dog.

As for Kigo, I think that it IS people who watch KP whom fantasize about Kigo, and yes, they are probably very very sex starved on the grounds that a lot of them are 14 year old boys. On the other hand, a lot of the people who do the really good Kigo artwork are actually older girls.

perfectblue 08:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

A lot of Kigo Readers are not sex starved 14 year old boys, just check deviantart. I know this for a fact beacause me and my Best friend are neither 14 nor male. Also alot of Kigo Fanfic have NO sex in them!!! Just Kim and Shego in love.

While this is interesting, I have to wonder how much of this supposition of Kigo supporters being 'sex-starved 14-year old boys' is speculation or if there's any hard evidence that someone has. Especially with how often it seems to be thrown around. Yes Shego has a temper and is often seen as violent, but I don't think that she's that way towards everything. As in Stop Team Go, it was shown that Shego CAN be friends with Kim and Ron. Then there was the parts where Shego isn't interested in fighting, like in Mad Dogs & Aliens when Kim showed up and she didn't attack Kim right away, merely had the guy giving her a massage throw hot coals at Kim and Ron. Then after she learned that Kim was after Drakken, she walked away from Kim. Clearly this indicates that Shego isn't nearly as violent as it seems she's thought to be here.

Total Update

After some analysis, I concluded that Shego’s article definitely needed some work done into it. Although it seemed to be a nice and informative article, the information was unorganized and, in some occasions, over-detailed.

The “Role in the show” section didn’t make much justice to the title, as what it did was to describe more of Shego’s personality, for which I mixed it with the “Personality” section, which now has become part of “Characteristics”.

Her role in the show was integrated in the introductory text, which was expanded by mixing it with the “Status” section. Also, all the paragraphs focusing on her Relationships now have a proper section with said name. The “Canon Debates” were put as more information in the subsections “Appearance” and “Powers” of “Characteristics”.

Also, I constructed “Character’s history and evolution” by mixing the “Character evolution” section with the story revealed in “Family history” (The remaining of this section is in “Relationships”). This section is meant to describe as much as is known of Shego’s history from the beginning to the end, mentioning the most important events without over-detailed information.

“Alternative Versions” and “Trivia” remained untouched, although I think there should be a way to include the points in Trivia to the rest of the article.

All these edits were made based of fictional characters Featured Articles, like Link (Legend of Zelda) and Storm (Marvel Comics). After this, I think that the article actually fits the Good Article criteria, although there might probably some edits to do.

I just though that I should state the editions I just made. Hope you like the work. --Alexlayer 04:08, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Right now, there is a lot of stuff hitting the fan over images from copyrighted sources, I think that we are using too many on this page and need to reduce the number by bout half else we're going to get hammered later on.

perfectblue 08:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Don't worry about the pics, they're copyrighted. If we make the page's images organized looking, nobody's gonna get busted. I started putting the title image on the left of the title of the particular section, and supporting images on the right. Removing images happened with the episode page for no reason, so we don't need users doing it.

=CJK= 21:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

With regard to the pics, I was under the impression that screenshots were generally considered acceptable, especially when they're not high-res. And it seems to me that the current wholesale removal of the pictures hurts the article: in particular, the "alternate versions" of Shego each have their own distinct looks, and pictures help to get the point across. — Red XIV (talk) 03:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree, but who do we talk to to get the pics back? --=CJK= 03:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

If talk page discussions can't get anything done, I guess the Mediation Cabal is an option (or if you prefer, more formal options, though jumping straight to those is a bad idea). — Red XIV (talk) 04:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Future Shego or Supreme One?

I know that that is a Future Version of Shego, but so far, that version of her was always known as "Supreme One" during the episode, and since we're refering to the alternatives versions by their given names (Example: We're calling Miss Go, from Rewriting History, just "Miss Go", not "Past Shego") I think we should entittle that subsection as "The Supreme One"

So... thoughts? Opinions? --Alexlayer 09:15, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

No one is going to reply? If there is no objection, I'll change it again, but I'd prefer some opinions first. --Alexlayer 20:29, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
