Plagiarism?

A lot of this reads as if it has been copied and pasted from some 19th century obituary, for example: "but there is no record of his ever having become a solicitor, for the natural bent of his genius impelled him, like Dickens and Disraeli, to lighter studies, and he forsook law for literature".It wouldn't be copyright violation given the age of the original material, but even so it could do with a rewrite into a more contemporary style of English.
