Hello Nomadicghumakkad, TheBirdsShedTears, Sahaib3005 and Hatchens. I was taking a look at this draft, and it seems like the majority of NPOV issues are fixed, maybe apart from "He is also skilled at Eastern Classical vocal, Eastern Classical Tabala, and...." There is some small copyediting required in a few places, but I can easily do that. I wanted you guys to take a look at it and give some opinions before moving it to mainspace. Thanks. ~StyyxTalk?^-^11:29, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hey Styyx, my decline was around WP:NPOV and WP:VER - both of which seem to have been fixed. I don't have comments on notability since I don't know much about how to evaluate reliability of Nepali sources. So if you are good with notability, you can accept it. As usual, the claims are not adequately supported by reliable sources. [1] says someone else "has collaborated with big names like ... Shiva Pariyar". It does not say who Pariyar is or what he does; so the citation doesn't support the claim. [2] is good. [3] is not a reliable source, and it doesn't say how many albums he has. So, that source, in addition to being unreliable, is only there to increase the ref count. [4] is from 2019 and says he has 10 albums. So, one has to ask, where does the figure of 11 come from, and why that source isn't cited instead? Incidentally, [4] would be a better ref for the lead sentence. So, replace [1] by [4] and trim the claim to "singer" only, drop [3] and change the albums claim to 10 as of 2019. That's just the lead. Does [5], what appears to be a paper on soil fertility, verify where and when the singer was born? I doubt it. Where does the name of the spouse and number of children come from? This is a BLP, with some history of UPE I imagine, going by the tag. So, I'd recommend checking the sources. At least the English ones. Then, if all seems to be in order, would it make sense to worry about what the Nepali sources are and whether they are any good. Best, Usedtobecool☎️10:35, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That said, the topic appears to be notable. If it were written with strict adherence to available reliable sources, it could be more than a stub. And, thanks for pinging. Regards! Usedtobecool☎️10:44, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Styyx, thanks for initiating a collaborative review. Regarding the subject, Usedtobecool has critically evaluated all the references and I completely agree with the analysis. From my personal experience, Shiva Pariyar is a notable singer in Nepal and has a reputable history, but so are others too. If we strictly adhere to WP:BIO, there are no WP:INDEPTH analysis in any of the reference. In other words, he may not comfortably pass WP:N. Also as pointed out by Usedtobecool, there are some strange references such as on soil fertility which has no link to the subject at all. I think it is not spamming but author is trying to hedge WP:ORIGINAL contents. Searching in Nepali language gives many results, but non of them has WP:INDEPTH analysis and mainly contains interviews and press releases (on music and social contributions). Overall, I suggest removing all the original content and classify as a start article or a stub. Regards! nirmal (talk) 14:00, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I've done some trimming. This source by LikeNepal (which I actually have no idea if it's reliable) covers his life pretty well, so I was able to keep the majority of the "Music career" section. ~StyyxTalk?^-^14:47, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
