Tried to add this to the category "Weapons of Japan", and it went into several categories that included things like "Japanese Tools." I appear to have eliminated it as a tool, but this page is still not in the right category!

Confusion

edit

There appears to be some confusion between a shobo and the tekko. The tekko is a traditional Okinowan weapon made by bending a shank of metal and putting a bolt in it to form a sort of brass knuckle. The Shobo appears to be similar, a sort of martial arts specific brass knuckle. The shobo appears to be the "T" shaped weapon with the 'upright' of the T forming a ring for the finger, which could then be used for punching.

Suntetsu, Shobo and Emeici

edit

Hi, all three seem to be the same or at least a very similar weapon. Due to this I shall add the other two to each page's See Also sections. The Shobo doesn't have an image, but I don't have enough knowledge to see the difference between them. Suntetsu and Shobo are both Japanese, is there a chance they are the same thing, but called two different names? (Possible page merger) All three pages are also quite short with no sources (except for one detail for the Shobo). (Anyone with specific knowledge on obscure Asian weapons close by?) --2A00:EE2:907:FF00:34A1:30C8:9493:2E5F (talk) 19:59, 12 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
