It is possible to activate this block and not die/progress through. It's hard but you can jump between them when they fall. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.85.4.179 (talk) 12:05, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Is this true?
edit"Many who have played the game for the first time could not make it past the first level."
I think that's a bit of an overstatement. I finished the game on my first try (after lots of deaths apparently but still) and a friend of mine who started playing at the same time gave up somewhere on the 3rd level I think. Also, the first level is really trial and error, none of the really tough puzzles are in it. So can anyone cite an real statistics or something for this? 91.140.22.88 (talk) 17:21, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I recall playing this game quite a while a go, and didn't give up on the first go. Sure I died several times at least, but I've beaten the stage, even the game as a matter of fact. So to say that "Many who have played the game for the first time could not make it past the first level." is, in my view, a overstatement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.31.8.141 (talk) 12:26, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

- Not only is it fake, it currently no longer exists, like this video no longer exits, so we'll probably never know.
- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. 177.105.90.75 (talk) 16:50, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... its a good article it was just vandalized--24.187.191.151 (talk) 22:49, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have moved the article back to where is was a few days ago, changes are still in the history if there was anything good there to keep. Right now, the article is only sourced by Youtube videos and a blog posting. Please take the time to find reliable sources for this article. Thanks! --Tgeairn (talk) 22:53, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Given the lack of reliable sources in the article, and my failure to find any in a reasonable search, I have proposed a deletion discussion regarding this article. If you are not familiar with the articles for deletion process, it is recommended that editors read WP:AFDEQ before participating in the discussion. --Tgeairn (talk) 23:06, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've just found some and cleaned up the article because it was in a terrible state anyway. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 06:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
KKK cat and dongs.exe?
editHas it really been referred to by these monikers? I would like to see a source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.220.77.101 (talk) 22:56, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
dongs.exe is the filename it uses when you upload it to a website — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.187.191.151 (talk) 00:55, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Kind of late to the party but I added dongs.exe moniker source to the article. I believe it was first used in a Something Awful let's play thread started in December 2007 by taxidermistpasta. [1] 178.36.205.100 (talk) 10:09, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
Origin of 'Cat Mario' Name?
editIs it an official name, or just a fanmade one? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.30.222.194 (talk) 13:46, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Shobon or Syobon?
editI'm indecisive on whether this article should be called "Shobon Action" or "Syobon Action". The main character of the game is "(´・ω・`)" which is apparently called "Shobon" (しょぼん) according to AA/Shift_JIS artwork found textboard websites like 2channel, which means the game should be called "Shobon Action" instead, but the game seems to have a long history as "Syobon Action". Any thoughts on this? zwigith[?] 04:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- Japanese doesn't use Hepburn, so no, this character is not called "Shobon". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.116.143.243 (talk) 21:51, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
- "Shobon" (しょぼん) is nothing more than "Syobon" in japanese (Language), so although the name of the game is "Syobon Action", the real name of the game, in the original language of the game is "Shobon" and not "Shiobon", and then, "what's the correct usage? Shiobon or Shobon?".
- Well, I can say that both are correct, the only difference between the two is the language, but both refers to the same game.
- I hope I helped clarify this doubt more, I confess that even I was confused by the fact that this game apparently "has" two names. 167.250.71.36 (talk) 15:57, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
I've moved it back to Syobon Action, for reasons outlined in the edit history (WP:COMMONNAME, "syobon" is a valid transliteration). Sonictrey (talk) 17:09, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
Game
editThe game is sometimes syobon no action or syobon Action with one's correct? 2601:187:100:5C0:1C7:E9BC:348C:FE62 (talk) 21:11, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
It appears Syobon Action is actually a misinterpretation. I've checked the sources and sure enough, it IS Shobon/Syobon no Action, every Japanese source does refer to it as such... but Chiki's blog detailing the game's development calls it "syobon_action_description" in the URL. What I believe happened was around 2008-2009, someone was trying to research where "Cat Mario" came from and found Chiki's blog. They saw the URL of the development page and used that as name reference. Syobon no Action isn't a wrong way to read the name - what is erroneous, however, is Syobon Action.
