Legal Classification of Shoplifting
editIn some states, a Shoplifting offense involving a person who has been previously banned from a retail establishment can be charged with felony Burglary. So, in some instances it is not considered different than Burglary, as stated in the entry. 75.130.74.50 (talk) 12:27, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
Exit inspections / Retail bag check exit policy
editThese are two different sections discussing the same thing. Valgrus Thunderaxe (talk) 20:38, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- No objection thus far. I'm going to remove the "Retail bag check exit policy" section as it's redundant and also riddled with grammatical errors and manager-like speak. Valgrus Thunderaxe (talk) 00:42, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
Proposal: Remove Notable Cases Section
editThe notable cases section strikes me as mostly trivia, and neither necessary to the article nor helpful to understanding shoplifting. Also, there is no apparent measure of what makes a case noteworthy beyond whether the person involved is famous, a criterion that of itself seems to either make for an arbitrarily selected short list of incidents or an extremely long list. Arllaw (talk) 04:45, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- Are there any thoughts on this proposal? Arllaw (talk) 00:37, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- I agree. I think any "notable cases" should be described only if they are remarkable and noteworthy instances of the crime, not otherwise unremarkable instances of the crime that are notable because the perpetrator was famous. Nothing here qualifies. WP Ludicer (talk) 01:12, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Arllaw and WP Ludicer: I totally agree. this should have been removed long ago. JBW (talk) 19:00, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have taken the liberty of removing the section. Arllaw (talk) 22:38, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
Caption under the photo of security tags
editThe image has been rotated and the caption appears to now be incorrect with the items oriented left to right. I don't know what the third tag type is. -- J7n (talk) 17:44, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
