Email sent: Fact check request for article on Shoppers World
editHello,
I am a writer for Wikipedia, a collaboratively-built, internet-based encyclopedia.
One contributor added mention in the Shoppers World article of waterslides one being in the area of the mall that the security now is stationed.
"Up until the late 1980s, Shoppers World had two waterslides at the south entrance, off Steeles Avenue. The two twisting tube slides came out of the roof and into its own tower housing. The ride spilled out into a glassed-in area at the south end of the mall."
Would you or anyone else at the mall be able to confirm or deny this?

- Up until the late 1980s, Shoppers World had two waterslides at the south entrance, off Steeles Avenue. The two twisting tube slides came out of the roof and into its own tower housing. The ride spilled out into a glassed-in area at the south end of the mall.[citation needed]
- Until we can cite this, I've sent this paragraph to the talk. -- Zanimum 18:04, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Why to you need to cite this. There were waterslides at Shoppers World until at least 1986.
- While some of us may remember these, the citation is required for independent verification. I moved into Brampton in 1990 and there were no waterslides at that time. As far as I knew there never were there. When I moved in, there were three arcades in the mall. These are no longer there. My memory is not enough to tell people there were arcades in the mall. The waterslide paragraph needs a verifiable citation. I take it we have not received verification in all this time? Nutster (talk) 19:08, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Shoppers world brampton logo.gif
editImage:Shoppers world brampton logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
History question
editThe History section feels like it is missing a large chunk of paragraph one is missing. It starts by talking about Shoppers World Danforth and then starts talking about reducing traffic in this mall. Maybe an entire paragraph got nuked. I will check the history and see if something should be restored. Nutster (talk) 19:20, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
