Australia, Queensland. Sunday trading is not statewide. It is mainly in the South East (Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Sunshine Coast) and tourist areas. Bundaberg for example does not have full Sunday trading, just a confusing mix. Conufsed 03:20, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I wonder if we could/should merge this with 'Sunday shopping'

Half Day closure

edit

I've been trying to find info on this, but I've not found a lot - it's the old tradition of closing at 13:00 on a Wednesday or Thursday. I'm sure there's a reason for it, but I haven't a clue what! If anybody knows, it'd be great if they could add it. KingDaveRa 21:33, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Finland update

edit

The Finnish parliament approved a new law regarding shopping hours recently. With the exception of a new national holidays, stores with an area under 400 sq meters are not regulated at all anymore, and larger stores may stay open every sunday until 18:00 (as opposed to until 21:00 on sundays during select months). Barbers and hairdressers won't be regulated at all. Relevant link in Finnish: [1] Totsugeki (talk) 15:12, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the update. I have edited the article to reflect the fact. The Finland section will have to be rewritten when the new legislation is in effect, probably well before Christmas. --hydrox (talk) 12:15, 21 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

France

Stores closed on Sundays. Bigger stores will been open during lunch hours 12pm to 2pm, but smaller stores with some exceptions closes their doors during those hours. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day in France, and Employer will give you those 2 hours break at work to eat. 74.120.7.131 (talk) 21:18, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
