Primay topic

Shorland was create like redict to Shorland armoured car in 2006, 13 years ago [1]. Other voices were created after it, for example Shorland (album) in 2009, [2]. Today I created a disambiguation that was moved, without any request or discussion, to [3] with motivation "Shorland armoured car is the main topic". I do not agree with it. • Support: Shorland armoured car is the primary topic by virtue of long-standing and common usage (WP:PRIMARYTOPIC). It is a more commonly-read WP article than all other options from the dab list, even taking into account the redirect, and dominates Google hits for "Shorland". Academic papers and book searches show a slightly different picture, but mixed mainly with results that we don't even have articles for. The redirect to the armoured car has been in place for 13 years without any problems and nothing seems to have changed to reduce its relevance, or to dramatically promote the notability of any of the other terms. There were a number of incoming wikilinks, all expecting the armoured car, although these have now been cleaned up by the enthusiastic dab volunteers after they were broken by the original page edit. To clarify the very muddy history of this redirect/dab page, it was recently converted from the long-standing redirect into the dab page that you probably see now; then it was actually moved (the same move proposed here) and the primary topic redirect put back; then the dab page was pasted back over the new redirect, reverted, and pasted again. And here we are. So when I support the move, I would suggest simply reverting the cut'n'paste attempt to revert the move that already took place. Then slap the IP editor for "forcing" discussion after making contentious edits simply as a means of locking them in place. Lithopsian (talk) 15:45, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

a number of link? are you talking about it [4]? no one link from mainspace, most of them arriving from usertalk. 13 years ago wikipedia was very different from now, the title was free and used for the redirect. 93.185.28.63 (talk) 18:16, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

• Support. It's difficult to determine primary topic by page views because the armoured vehicle occupied the base name, but I'd agree with the previous editor that the armoured vehicle has long-term significance in the way none of the other entries do.
