Out of place sentence? Not sure how to fix it. PatrickBlaney (talk) 20:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
editThe fourth paragraph currently reads "The single rose up the Billboard Hot 100 all the way to No. 3 and remained in the top 40 for 23 weeks.[4] The song also hit No. 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart, remaining in the top 40 of that chart for 31 weeks. It also peaked at No. 4 on the Canadian pop charts.[5] While that association undoubtedly buoyed the song's success and contributed to its lingering appeal,[citation needed] the single had not yet peaked[6] when the war officially ended on February 28, 1991.[7]"
The sentence beginning "While that association undoubtedly buoyed the song's success.." refers to the association with the 1990 Gulf War which was described in the second paragraph. It's not really clear without analysis what association "that association" refers to.
I'd move the sentence to the end of the second paragraph, but the song's chart performance isn't introduced until the fourth paragraph.
I'd delete the sentence, but I honestly don't know how important the association with the 1990 Gulf War is to this song. I don't want to delete the sentence if it's important to note the association.
There's also an unresolved "[citation needed]" in the sentence that would go away if the sentence were deleted.
I think the article is "tarnished", but not rendered useless by the unclear reference to "that association", but I can't think of a good way to fix the problem. I'm hoping someone else will see the simple solution that's evading me.

editThe song starts in 4/4, and only the chorus (+ bridge) are in 6/8. Can someone correct that? Thanks
