Footnotes clearly unrelated

edit

footnotes 10- through 16 are nothing but bald promotion, I would say even an attempt to get the SIAS folks in hot water given their circumstances but that is just my opinion. These footnotes are unrelated to the text and are merely generating traffic for web sites here in the USA.Malangthon (talk) 15:02, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not going to have an edit war, but no SIAS teachers would ever be in 'hot water', they've been peacefully coexisting at SIAS for decades now, one little wikipedia article won't do anything. But, since I am not living there, I cannot say 100% what's going on now. If you feel it's unfair, or unbiased, edit the article. It's not locked... but do keep in mind the spirit of free and thorough information that wikipedia represents. Thanks User: 76.79.9.129 talk 15:14, 08 June 2012

A) You did not sign your comment so clearly you do not agree with your assertion! B) Never in hot water where Facebook and the New York Times are blocked? You clairvoyant or just refusing to accept the fact that people in positions of power react to the smallest afront by abusing those who are vulnerable? C) You do not have first hand knowledge.
SIAS has not been around for decades but since the whole idea of peaceful coexistence was brought into it--the Chinese authorities have promoted the illusion of free speech to lure the human rights crowd into the open to round them. They learned it from Stalin. You think not, you date your birth post-Nixon.Malangthon (talk) 13:53, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

this is interesting how over the course of a month the citations which show that SIAS has openly and covertly attempted to recruit evangelical christian missionaries to teach for them. First the change was to remove the references to the overtly christian slant of the instructors, and then the footnotes were cited to be deleted. 86.97.207.153 (talk) 16:35, 22 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Need NPOV

edit

I read the SIAS University article today. It surprised me because one sentence expressed a very personal point of view. Then I looked at the revision history, and found that there's been a revert war running on this page for over three months. Of course, I don't know the pros and cons of this particular grievance, but it's apparent that someone had a bad experience with the university and is trying to attack it.

I'm a fairly frequent contributor to Wikipedia. The NPOV policy is vital, and just about all the pages I've seen adhere to it pretty well. I hope that this wasteful and bitter revert war can be stopped.

Is this all needed?

edit

I have one thing to say. This article has no meaning of signifigance. The editing war that has been going on is useless. I see no point in all this arguing over this insignifigant article. SIAS univerity isn't really "recognized" too. Im just saying this so the administrators can think it over. Im not putting a Article for Speedy Deletion template becouse one, I don't want to start up a domestic incident, and two, Theres like no more space for templates either. I beg to differ. It is worth of recording what may be a harbinger of change in educational philosophy in the birth place of the Confucian testing mentality that has so overwhelmed education in the west since the Jesuits brought the concept out of Asia.Malangthon (talk) 15:02, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

NPOV added

edit

As far as missionaries and very conservative christians, there is indeed an element of that among the foreign teachers at SIAS, I know this from personal experience. It has been cited and noted in TWO sentences. No further explanation, lambasting or personal opinion is needed. Please do not delete. Whether positive or negative, the presence of that population at SIAS is an important and distinguishuing factor and excluding it would impinge on the basic values of truth and information present on wikipedia. If anyone has more information, or more citations, please note them. 76.79.9.129 17:50, 20 May 2009

What about the Chinese students?

edit

This article does a great job at highlighting the foreign teachers and the foreign students at the university, but what about the other 16,000 people that live on that campus. Any information on their activities and/or living arrangements? If anyone could provide any information from the Chinese websites I think it'd be a really great addition to what we already currently have. 129.115.223.82 (talk) 22:36, 11 June 2009 (UTC)-Reply

OK, Interesting point. But the students and the Chinese faculty do not write here. Are you expecting them to join and do so or are you expecting others to use their time and record original research here? Malangthon (talk) 13:35, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Name Change

edit

At the present time, the school is entitled "SIAS International College, Zhengzhou University" on official communique, signs and various common references. It is currently being certified under the authority of Zhengzhou University but is not part of the university. Malangthon (talk) 13:41, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
