Age

edit

Siddarth is 34 years old as of 2013. He was born in 1979. He even tweeted his age couple of years back as 32. http://entertainment.oneindia.in/telugu/news/2013/siddharth-narayan-celebrate-34th-birthday-photos-107771.html Not sure why his birth year is listed as 1983! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gowiki1342 (talkcontribs) 04:52, 12 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please site source for the age of Siddharth in the talk page.--Dwaipayanc 10:16, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't find that info online, and I've been sitting back watching as anons change it back and forth. There may be non-English sources with his age. Zora 10:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
This is still going on. It's absurd, given we know he was in college in 1997. Hornplease 08:56, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I realy don't agree with Siddharth's age.I am sure he was not born in the year 1979.The source for his age is from one of the fans website and I am sure it was created to manipulate his age.

Siddharths DOB is 17/4/1979 and this has been confirmed from his record at KMC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.87.52.48 (talk) 17:34, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Siddharth was my senior at DAV Gopalapuram. I was born 07/19/1980. So, hell yes he was born in 1979. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.63.122.4 (talk) 22:14, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I thought Siddharth was only 28. I know for sure he is not almost 40.

I requested IP protection for the page, but it was turned down. I wish I could do more, but I don't want to get into a continuous edit war here. Perhaps someone else could request protection? I researched the DOB which does appear to be 1979. Sorry, but I am not an admin and can do no more. VMS Mosaic (talk) 07:27, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

The birth year of Siddharth is mentioned as 1971 in the bio template, but as 1981 in the introductory (first) line. --68.193.2.168 (talk) 16:01, 29 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Siddharth Does not use any Surname. Hence the Page Title has to be changed from "Siddharth Narayan" to "Siddharth". Source: Twitter/Actor_Siddharth where he tweeted: On 3rd Jan'10 "I don't use a surname. Its just siddharth. Works for me:) some ignorant journo named me siddharth narayan after RDB. i hate that name, coz its not my name! can we find a way to stop it being used!!" On 27th Jan'10 " Make them stop calling me by these awful incorrect names...aaaaaaaaahhhhhh! 10 films and my name is a mystery. Sad. Its just Siddharth!! " This is a clear proof. Immediate action to be taken by Wiki and correct the mistake. A CELEBRITY should not be addressed with a WRONG NAME, ..SAD Neerajaakunuri (talk) 19:24, 2 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

About the film Striker

edit

I believe this to be changed accordingly as the movie is released now. He and his fans are awaiting the release of his second Bollywood movie Striker, which is about the life of a carrom player

I am new to wiki edit section. Not sure how to do it for semi-protected articles, hence this section on the talk page.

New Movie

edit

The Siddharth's new movie is "Anaganaga O Dheerudu", but the last paragraph mentions it as "Hyderabad". Can it be corrected? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.77.173.59 (talk) 14:35, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

A further notification will be placed when/if the image is deleted. This notification is provided by a Bot, currently under trial --CommonsNotification (talk) 22:27, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Requested move

edit
The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Not moved. I think the consensus may be to move the article, however not as proposed. If moved, Siddharth (actor) is one option but since he is not the only actor, this could be a problem. But that could be addressed with a change of the dab in the future if needed. I'll probably list this with Siddharth (actor) as the proposed target as opposed to resisting this discussion after this is closed. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:13, 29 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Siddharth NarayanSiddharth – In his tweets on 21st December, the actor clearly stated that he does not have a surname. His name is just Siddharth. Escalator2heaven (talk) 08:50, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Source plz. X.One SOS 09:04, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
There is another actor called Siddharth Koirala, brother of Manisha Koirala. Lots of other people have the same name. Then why should this be moved to "Siddharth"? X.One SOS 09:48, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Change support to move to Siddharth (actor) per Noetica's valid comments. However, it is not for Wikipedia to force fit names for subjects because their name doesn't fit our schema, therefore the current title is quite absurd indeed. —SpacemanSpiff
  • Oppose. Has anyone gone to the trouble of looking at Siddharth as it now stands? It is a redirect to Siddhartha. This is because "Siddharth" is virtually just a spelling variant (or a transcription variant) of "Siddhartha". In Sanskrit and related Indic languages a final short "a" is assumed for a word that ends in a consonant. Hence we see "yog" as a variant of "yoga", "Karm" (name of a film, on Wikipedia) as a variant of "karma", "anand" (a heavily populated DAB page) for "ananda", and so on.
The DAB page Siddhartha includes many people called "Siddhartha", and many named with the variant "Siddharth" – including the person dealt with in the present article. It is a principal name of Gautama Buddha. It would be a very strange thing to appropriate the name, bare and unqualified, for an article about a 32-year-old actor from the south of India. It is reasonable to think that two dozen centuries of Buddhism have a natural claim to primacy, yes?
 ♥ NoeticaTea? 09:58, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Partial oppose - Per Noetica. Lots of other people have the name, including another actor. Running through pageview stats ;
  • Siddharth Narayan has 54000 views in this month. [1]
  • Siddharth Koirala has 1800 views. [2]
Hence, per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, out of the two actors, this one is more visited and of higher interest and importance. Siddharth Koirala is not only an actor, but equally an active politician. So, I am proposing to move this to "Siddharth (actor)". Would be helpful if others again reviewed their opinions. X.One SOS 11:41, 22 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oppose, It is usually recommended that we don't use just visit counts as reasoning for redirects and page moves. I suggest Siddharth Narayan stay the way it is because of ambiguity with the other Siddharth. Just for the record, we have a similar problem with Sathyan (actor) and Sathyan Sivakumar. Perhaps the final consensus here could help those two pages out as well. EelamStyleZ talk 19:49, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 2

The result of the move request was: page moved. I consider my nomination here to be the same as a relisting. The purpose was to gather input on what the consensus appeared to be. So I have no problem doing the close. If there are questions, I'm wiling to back away. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:17, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Siddharth NarayanSiddharth (actor) – Based on the first move discussion that proposed target may not be the best, this alternative seems to have a good amount of support, but he is not the only actor. Rather then relisting the old discussion with a target that lacks support, I elected to open this new discussion. If you comment, do read the discussion that was just closed. The movies NH4 and Udhayam are not connected properly. 122.167.127.38 (talk) 01:14, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Question: I see what you mean, in that the wikilinks don't go to the right place - Udhayam, NH4.
But I'm confused - the earlier entry indicates this is one movie - Udhayam NH4 - so I'm not sure how to "fix" this - as you say movies.
Can you explain further - sorry if I'm missing something obvious here. Begoontalk 01:32, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
