Is something missing here, or we have a secret russky guy out there spreading nuclear love? --Jollyroger (talk) 10:17, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Rewrite needed?
editDo the last paragraphs of the Sierra I ("...requiring fewer passes to achieve weld at the disadvantage of the cost of each hull which limits numbers built despite the advantages...") and Sierra III ("...the first hull of the series was due to be brought for repair...") sections need to be rewritten for clarity? The quoted phrases make no sense to me, although I admit I know nothing about welding. WeeWillieWiki (talk) 02:09, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Sierra III?
editThe sierra III section contradicts itself. Is there an operational example of the III subclass, or was it scrapped before completion? 84.215.148.204 (talk) 17:49, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- The entire reference to this possible class and its single hull is very short. Single unit mentioned under construction was never completed.Федоров (talk) 20:58, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Torpedo Tubes
editI believe that the reported number of torpedo tubes to be false. Look at any dry dock photo of a Sierra I and you plainly see 8 tubes. I would assume 4 650mm and 4 533mm as in the Akula. The Sierra is big, it has space for it above the cylindrical (Victor III) sonar. The Sierra 2 has 6 tubes, yes, only due to the much larger spherical MK540 sonar (Akula) installed in it. Please, anyone, prove me wrong. I want to get the details right. If it is 6 tubes, and only 2 650mm, please explain all the drydock photos showing 8. Thank you. 76.67.149.249 (talk) 00:00, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Well, for one thing, you haven't provided a drydock photo in the first place, and we don't have one here on Wikipedia. So no, we don't have to "prove" you wrong. Rather, you need to provide reliable sources regarding its torpedo tube complement. --OuroborosCobra (talk) 01:13, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- I am not trying to be combative. This is my first ever Wiki edit, please bear with me. See this drydock photo of a Sierra I:
- Also see these sources as to the torpedo tube complement:

- It seems there is conflicting information out there as to the number of torpedo tubes, indeed. But a drydock photo clearly shows 8, not 6. 76.67.149.249 (talk) 12:07, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
