I have 650 vs. 878. Yet the google doesn't perform well for Cyrillic searches: Yandex search yields 2379 items. I always use exact spelling and exact name. Neverthless Polish name should also be included. As the article states that he wasn't Russian and of mixed Polish-Ukrainian heritage and we have a source that he believed himself Pole I will change the incorrect category of Russian writer to Polish and Ukrainian one. --Molobo 19:49, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Move

Shouldn't this article be moved to some other title? I'm not sure which would be the best one, but I'm pretty confident that the current one is plainly wrong. I'd support either his original Polish name (Zygmunt Krzyżanowski) or a proper transliteration of its Russian version (Sigizmund Kzhizhanovskiy). The Krzh thingie seems like a left-over from an improper transliteration to Russian to me, though he might've been using that version as well. //Halibutt 06:53, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Krzhizhanovsky is the usual translation of Russian Кржижановский. "Рж" (rzh) is the historical Russianization of Polish "rz". Technically you're right about -skiy, but it is common to simplify that to -sky (compare Tchaikovsky, Stravisnky, Dostoevsky, etc., and see WP:RUS). As for whether to use the Polish or the Russian form, I would lean towards keeping the Russian one, since he lived most of his adult life in Russia and Ukraine and wrote in Russian.
