editFT2, I reverted your article move. First, WP:NAME states that (emphasis mine):
- Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.
Discard is the term for throwing a card in a non-trump suit other than the one led. When the discard is also assigned a specific meaning by the partnership, it becomes a signal as well. Thus, there's no need to emphasize "discard" in the title, as the article is devoted to meaning of the defenders' cards played—IOW, the signals, as the simple title reads.
