Oh, surely this would pass on FAC? -- ALoan (Talk) 09:34, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article should ideally have been submitted to a peer review first. Green Giant 16:57, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Why? Do you think peer review would add much of value that FAC won't? -- ALoan (Talk) 18:12, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Whilst this article is interesting and informative, the poor quality English should surely have been improved significantly before it was submitted as a featured article....(unsigned edit by User: FunkyJon 16:04, 9 September 2006

Missing ref?

edit

Giano - on fixing up the refs yesterdy, I noticed that the reference to Broughton's Rules toward the end currently uses Svinth, but there was an inline note that another reference is required. Could you possibly check if Svinth is right, or another ref is still needed. Thanks. -- ALoan (Talk) 08:56, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

No it is right the ref is here [1] direct quote below

"Mee, 2001, 105; "Burke was arrested, but exonerated. The death contributed to the introduction of London Prize Ring Rules, which prohibited seconds from carrying a nearly unconscious man to the mark. The new rules also prohibited spiked boots (most bouts were fought outdoors) and disqualified fighters who fell down without being hit (a common way of getting a rest under Broughton's Rules)." It seems to be sufficiently referenced to my way of thinking, was that "needs reference" added yesterday, I haven't seen it there before? Giano | talk 09:15, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Great - thanks. I added that comment - it previously said <ref name="Svinth">Reference needed</ref>.[2] I guess that probably happened by accident - I didn't do it when I did the references the first time [3] - but it is good to have cleared it up. -- ALoan (Talk) 10:32, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
