EP or single?
editShould this be classified as an EP or single? With only two tracks, it looks more like a single, no? - Merzbow 02:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Under UK chart rules at the time of release, it would have been ineligible for the singles chart but only because the sleeve does not declare that the two tracks are effectively mixes of the same Stereolab recording. At that time, a single could have up to 40 minutes duration if it consisted of multiple mixes of the same track (or 25 minutes if it didn't). However, the artwork had to make it clear that the content was multiple remixes; as NWW gave the two tracks completely different titles with no such declaration, it couldn't be a "single". For a contrast, see Aphex Twin's Ventolin release, where, for one format, he gave 6 completely unrelated tracks the title "Ventolin", putting remix titles in brackets. It was accepted... - I've just added the running times to show the duration of the tracks. I thought it was already there. Ac@osr
