I suspect that the date listed here (1965) for when Allis Chalmers purchased Simplicity is incorrect. They were making Allis Chalmers branded garden tractors as early as 1961 (see model "B-1").

In regards to your comment: Before 1965 Simplicity was merely building garden tractors FOR Allis-Chalmers (B-1,B-10,etc). The relationship worked well so Allis-Chalmers purchased Simplicity outright in 1965.
