User:Magbantay, is the fried rice in this image of Filipino fried rice with spam and egg indeed sinangag? - Takeaway (talk) 15:12, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why mention non-Filipino fried rice dishes?

edit

I don't see why unrelated, non-Filipino fried rice dishes are mentioned so prominently in this article. If it's only to fluff up a very short article, perhaps it would be better to mention instead what sorts of main dishes normally accompany Filipino garlic fried rice, and dispense with fried rice dishes from other countries. If I understand correctly, sinangag is hardly ever eaten on its own, but a way to reheat rice while making it tastier, so it can be eaten with other side dishes. Nasi goreng, Thai fried rice, and Burmese fried rice tend to be eaten as 1 plate dishes on their own. In that respect, they are not similar to sinangag at all. - Takeaway (talk) 17:38, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
