Hotplugging and pin length
editLooking at male and female SCA connectors, I can see no difference in the pin length except that the outer (shielding) contacts are longer. The outer connectors appear to be both grounded on at least some systems, so at best hotplugging will first connect ground and then logic signals- there is no provision for connecting power after logic and no final detection loop.
