Forgery
editApparently he tried to forge his family history - see here. Malick78 (talk) 14:32, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
I also thought the story of the Dering Roll and his entering himself into a knights' genealogy is worth mentioning. According to Wagner's book (as confirmed by History Centre Surrey in an e-mail) it does say that he forged brasses at Pluckley Church. But I think that a reference to what must have been his main forgery, namely that of the Dering Roll would be more appropriate, since the roll has recently been acquired by the British Library and is exhibited there. Source: British Library: [1]. The story can be found on several other websites, but they all seem to have copied the information from the BL press release. --Labeet (talk) 10:42, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
