How did he purchase and gift a proprty to kew gardens in 1838, when he wasn't born until 1877???
Prseumably the Henry Pricr hall of residence/flats at Leeds University ate named after him. Anyone goy anh info on that?
- Thanks I corrected that incorrect date - must have been a typo that no one noticed - and cleaned up the entry slightly. I will see if Chatham House can supply the entry with a picture of him. I know they have a portrait of him, which has been published in one of their publications cited as a footnote in the entry and probably photos to do him more justice than his entry does at present. I would think that fairly certainly the Henry Price hall of residence/flats at Leeds University is named after him and imagine he donated the money for it. Are you connected with the University and can you find that out from them? Sir Henry was a very modest man and generous philanthropist who was a friend of my father's. Sir Henry also made many of the uniforms for the fighting forces during WWII but apart from him telling me that (he bought cloth by the mile rather than by the yard), I would have to research a written source for it before including it. I am a little pushed for time right now but will try to get to those. William Macadam (talk) 11:48, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
How can Qwerfjkl (bot) change his entry to be suddenly listed under Biography : Sports and games? The entry does not mention either. He was a tailor, businessman, philanthropist and supporter of international relations and botany William Macadam (talk) 19:56, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
