Merge
editSince there hasn't been any expansion of the article in the last two years, I think we can just merge it with Banglapedia. As it stands now, it doesn't merit its own article with only 2 sentences. If there aren't any objections, I'll merge it into Banglapedia. --Ragib 08:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's a very nice idea. Please, do. Cheers. Aditya Kabir 09:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agree. Not notable enough for own article. I'm surprised it's lasted two years. Could easily be a candidate for CSD :) → AA (talk • contribs) — 20:15, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just read the AfD and am surprised that being a chairman of board of editors makes him notable. I guess if there were multiple non-trivial sources on him, it would stand. → AA (talk • contribs) — 20:26, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- The merge tag has been in place for over a month. I will therefore do the merge next week (unless one of you guys do it first). → AA (talk) — 20:39, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have started to expand the article. The first step was collecting a few sources. I hope I can get this stuff to at least a B-class in a week or something. This guy is really notable as he has edited most of the bigger tomes on Bangladesh history, chaired the department of history in Dhaka university and the center for historical research of the university, is one of the core people of Asiatic Sciety of Bangladesh and the Banglapedia Foundation, and author of numerous fundamental research in BAngladesh history. Just give it a week. Cheers. Aditya(talk • contribs) 21:08, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problems. → AA (talk) — 10:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Need Major Correction
editThis page was created in the name of Sirajul Islam, the Chief Editor of Banglapedia: the National Encyclopedia of Bangladesh. Later, some editors became confused and started treating him as Muhammad Sirajul Islam, the former vice chancellor of Islamic University, Bangladesh. They added some information to this page regarding him. It needs to be corrected. Factcheckerhuman (talk) 14:39, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
