The introduction to this page gives a decent overview of what site-directed mutagenesis is, but it lacked a lot of detail that would have been beneficial to understanding why a scientist might utilize site-related mutagenesis. The introduction also needed to cite more if the information. There was only one reference used in the entire introduction. The "history" section used a good amount of citations, but it was too short and did not have enough information. It should have included more up to date information about current uses of and research on site-related mutagenesis. The "basic mechanism" section was slightly confusing. If it was described in a more stepwise manner it would have been more clear and easier to follow, as if the reader was following a protocol. The "Approaches" section was well done and included valuable information. It was interesting to read about the different site-related mutation methods that have developed over time. The descriptions about each method provided a good background about the methods. The CRISPR section needs more information, especially because it is such an important and controversial method of genetic engineering. The "applications" sectioned lacked a lot of possible applications. The references I visited were all relevant, peer-reviewed, and were found in scientific journals.
