Prejudice

It's another form of prejudice. People prejudge on any number of factors, more or less valid (skin color, religion, yes, but also brand of clothing, shoe size). What makes size especially notable? I think it *is* possible to make a good article out of this, but it needs reliable references from multiple disciplines, not uncited essay language. Piano non troppo (talk) 18:33, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Sizism

Someone vandalized this article with some very sizist staments about basketball and health. All minorities have health issues blacks and gays are more susceptable to HIV. Women are more susceptable to breast cancer. However saying that this makes sizism valid would be much like saying that racism or sexualism or sexism was valid because these people were more susceptable to diseases on their jobs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainbowofpeace (talk • contribs) 04:09, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Sources

More sources need to be cited. However, not just sources from "fat acceptance websites" that cry out in the "fight against sizism" but sources giving credibility to so-called "sizist" beliefs, if the beliefs are true. Should this REALY be redirected to Fat acceptance? I mean if Sizism is about stuff like waist size, what about Anorexics? How come they're not counted? So what? Discriminating Anorexics isn't Sizism? What is it then???OsirisV 20:50, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Sizism doesn't always mean that there are hatred against people who are fat. Skinny people are more prone to sizism as well. Sweetfornow (talk) 18:11, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

I have made some changes that hopefully will speak to the distinction of sizeism and all that it encompasses.
