skids != pallets

Equipment skids are not usually plastic or wooden, like pallets, Richard New Forest. A simple google image search will verify this. Please do not remove statements that you do not understand. I, for one, do not contribute to this site in order to see my additions distorted and reverted in the name of your horrible, misguided stylistic preferences. Is there nothing about an out of control sliding motion as a skid or skidding? Does Wikipedia have nothing to say?--Rumping (talk) 20:51, 13 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree that this is an issue. I came here looking for skidding (as in what a car does when it leaves skid marks), but found only a disambig page with the closest topic being the marks left over. If I search Dinosaur, I hope I get a topic closer than Fossil. What causes skidding? What impact does skidding have on the auto industry (e.g., brake design, traction control, etc.)? What different types of skid might a vehicle experience (e.g., rear-wheel skid/front wheel skid)? What effects does skidding have on stopping distance of a vehicle? In short, there are more than enough notable things about skidding to merit a Wikipedia article on the subject. Bronsonboy HQ 23:02, 28 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
I was also looking for an article on skidding and the physics involved. Where can I find this article and if it doesn't exist, should we start one? Jamietwells (talk) 15:51, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
