editIn the 2005 film, Slartibartfast memorably imparted the following wisdom on life:
Doesn't Slarty say something very similar in every version of HHGG? Daibhid C (talk) 00:00, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Rude name?
editThe article mentions that Slartibartfast's name is supposed to sound rude, but gives no explanation as to how it could be considered rude. I myself don't see what might be at all offensive about it. How is his name supposed to sound offensive? --Bando26 (talk) 06:32, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

- How about Slutty Butt Face? Jdaniels15 (talk) 14:04, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Its almost, but not quite, ‘shit-fart fart blast.’ It’s a miss-spelled spoonerism. Slart is almost shart (a cross between a shit and a fart) and bart fast is fart b(L)ast with the l missing.
The paragraph "He came closer in the next episode" is completely wrong, as the programmers (or their descendants) are not named at all in the radio series. 74.125.57.105 (talk) 09:59, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
