Just finished reading an excellent book by Christopher Sykes about this house.
This article is mostly correct (but repeats itself a little i.e. Joseph Rose is mentioned twice but only linked once)
Capability Brown is credited in this article for designing the garden (and he was one of the landscapers who had some input into the garden) but the house & garden was built ~1751 with the gardens designed by Parsons. Brown did not have any input until 1777; even then the final design (as with much of the house) was by Christopher Sykes himself.
