explanation
editThere are some categories for extrajudicial prisoners. So far this category has been used on articles about both current and past prisoners. This is consistent with how other categories on other kinds of prisoners.
There is a contributor who has a recent concern over these categories, and he started unilaterally removing former captives from these categories.
I am reverting this instance.
I am going to urge this contributor to comply with the wikipedia's civility policies, and engage in a civil, meaningful discussion over their concerns. Geo Swan (talk) 05:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Please stop falsely accusing your fellow editors. The category was removed based on Wikipedia policy of redundant cats (see WP:SUBCAT). There was no attack made. A policy based reason was given. You revert, with an edit summary of "revert -- see talk". I come to this talk page and all I see is a false attack about being uncivil. Please cut out this nonsense and self-revert.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:46, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see that any civility arguments are necessary, and we should indeed be focused on content. However, I would encourage brewcrewer to seek consensus with Wikiproject:Terrorism or a similar group before unilaterally removing categories - especially ones that seem to generate concerns among established editors. Sherurcij (speaker for the dead) 05:48, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Brewcrewer is still hoping that someone would care to explain why Category:People held at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp is not redundant to Category:Guantanamo detainees known to have been released and should not be removed based on WP's WP:SUBCAT policy.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:59, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
