Heraldry
editCouldn't really understand the explanation of the school badge, e.g. there are no such things as watersheds in heraldry. So tried to make sense of it by reference to old Tettenhall arms and badge on school website. Suspect some of the confusion might stem from an older version of the badge. There is still possible confusion. The River Smestow itself doesn't really start anywhere near the school or Tettenhall, although it does flow close by. In fact, the school stands alongside the Finchfield Brook, a tributary of the Smestow and the Staffs and Worcs canal, entirely inside the Severn catchment. The town of Tettenhall itself really does stand on the watershed, though, with the Penk running towards the Trent, and the Perton and other brooks down to the Smestow, and thence to the Stour and Severn. So there's probably a need for a further rewrite by someone who knows exactly what was intended. Sjwells53 (talk) 16:08, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
