editHey Angela, your redirect has precluded further info being added to the Smoking ban page (which links from Smoking page). I intended to put the following on the Smoking ban page;
- "Many countries have introduced smoking bans in various guises over the years, citing health statistics that show smoking is bad for the smokers and those subjected to second-hand smoke.
- "Despite the dire warnings from smokers that hospitality businesses such as hotels, restaurants and bars would suffer disastrously from smoking bans, with many of them going broke, the experiences of New York and California gave the lie to this.
- "Most recent country to introduce a comprehensive ban is New Zealand who passed the Smokefree Environments Amendment Bill on December 3, 2003."
along with stub alert thingy, hoping someone with better knowledge than I have would produce info on the New York and California legislations, plus smoking ban legislation elsewhere in the world. Can the Smoking ban page be re-opened? And wouldn't it be better as bans plural? Cheers Moriori 02:47, Dec 4, 2003 (UTC)
Yes, you can still edit the Smoking ban page. Use this link. The redirect was created automatically when I moved the page here. It didn't mean that the redirect had to stay, just that I thought the information now at Smokefree Environments Amendment Bill was better under this title. On a redirect page, you will see (Redirected from Smoking ban). Click on the link 'smoking ban' and you will go to the smoking ban page. Then just click edit. Angela. 06:15, 5 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- Tks for advice Angela. Cheers Moriori 06:31, Dec 5, 2003 (UTC)
Since this has been passed into law shouldn't it be Smokefree Environments Amendment Act intead of Smokefree Environments Amendment Bill?
I moved it to "Act". (Alphaboi867 04:37, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC))
