No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:12, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Snakeskin gourami → Trichopodus pectoralis – Currently, the page is under snakeskin gourami. I propose that it is moved to Trichopodus pectoralis with snakeskin gourami as a redirect as per WikiProject Fishes naming guidelines because there are at least 2 common names and the scientific name appears to be vastly more popular:
- snakeskin gourami (30,600 Google results)
- diamond gourami (1,940 Google results when searching for exactly that phrase; 648,000 results when searching for the two keywords on the same page)
On the other hand, Trichopodus pectoralis and Trichogaster pectoralis (because the genus was renamed under two years ago and the change has not been publicised much) give 117,000 Google results, which is considerably more than the "common names" do.
Your thoughts on the move would be appreciated (please preface with Support, Oppose or Comment).

- Oppose. What matters is the name that our readers will use to look for the article. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:26, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
