Hello @Grayfeel,

We tried to amend the content of Sobieski page, with more complete and up to date information, but anytime we tried, everything we've posted has been removed. It was faire the first time, as the content was not justified with source, but then we tried again applying this guideline and once again the content has been removed. Could you please help us with this? From what I understood, once the content can be verifiable, it should be allowed on the page. Many thanks for your help. @Romdeb: Hello.
Verifiability is important, but it is not the only thing that is important. Keeping a neutral point of view is also very important. Because Wikipedia is not a platform for advertising, and it is also not a place for indiscriminate info, the material you added just doesn't belong here. I can explain this, but first I need you to do something:
Please declare any conflict of interest you have. If you have been paid to edit Wikipedia, you must disclose this in order to comply with Wikipedia's terms of service. Please review Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Since you mention "we tried", I should also explain to you that Wikipedia has a strict one person to an account rule. Do not share your account with anyone else (Wikipedia:Sock puppetry, specifically WP:ROLL, explains this if you need more information about this rule).
Once that is out of the way, I will explain the problems in more detail if you need me to. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 09:31, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Introduction year

edit

At some point the introduction year was changed to 1998 but the edit does not give a reason. The brand definitely existed for much longer. Unfortunately, there is no date mentioned on the website of the brand, but the site of the original distillery mentions it was founded in 1846 (I used google translate because I don't speak polish :( ). I'm not sure if this is sufficient evidence, what do you think about removing the introduction date, when there is no proper documentation online? Alerion (talk) 21:08, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have moved this to the bottom, per WP:BOTTOMPOST.
I think removing it is a good idea, so I will do that. Distilleries are not the same as brands. Buffalo Trace Distillery, for example, claims to have opened in 1792, but Buffalo Trace bourbon was introduced in 1999. Without a reliable source, it's hard to tell where the history ends and marketing begins. Grayfell (talk) 21:27, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
So I don't speak Polish either, unfortunately, but the name "Wytwórnię Wódek, Likierów i Koniaków" is similar to "Warszawska Wytwórnia Wódek "Koneser" (Warsaw Vodka Factory "Koneser"). My unqualified hesitant guess is that this translates to "Koniaków Vodka and Liquor Factory". I don't know why it's discussing Pomerania, since that's on the other side of Poland from Koniaków. I'm guess it's because rectified spirits were first introduced to Poland at that time. I've added the source and whatever content I am reasonably confident is supported, since this is still better than nothing at all. Grayfell (talk) 22:05, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Notability?

edit

Is there really a question of this being a notable product? It's one of the most popular go to brands of vodka in the U.S. and Europe and represents the vodka tradition of the country that may well have invented vodka.

If there is no protest, I will remove the "notability" banner within 48 hours. Thanks!
