Speedy deletion nom
editI believe this article meets the criteria for notability established at WP:Notability. It is an international society that represents Belgium scientific interest in Geography and publishes scientific journals and findings. In that respect it is the Belgian version of the Royal Geographical Society and is as notable as any other scientific society. Admittedly the only info I have on it at the moment is from its own website but a google search will show you its notability in its field - Dumelow (talk) 14:52, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Looks notable to me. Lampman (talk) 15:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I believe the notification for speedy deletion should be removed immediately. It would appear to me that it's insertion is a mistake. The Société Royale Belge de Géographie is not "a company...that does not indicate the importance...etcetera" in my opinion (as per se the deletion notice distinction CSD A7), but rather a learned society.
- This distinction will be added into the opening sentence by me forthwith. Hag2 (talk) 15:39, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, was on Cruise Control when I added this, thought it was another self-promotion and there were no references at the time. Removed the speedy. Message from XENUu, t 20:02, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I normally work on articles in my userspace first but this one was never going to be much more than a stub so I started straight in the mainspace - Dumelow (talk) 20:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Name
editDoes it have a Flemish/Dutch name? Punkmorten (talk) 20:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Not that I am aware of, the only references to it I have seen are in French. I will check around on their website though - Dumelow (talk) 20:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
