Acculturation does not mean Assimilation
in the article it argues that acculturation is basically assimilation. This is not true, Acculturation relates to the psychological changes (or lack of) in an individual's or group's home cultural behaviour in the environment of a host culture. Assimilation is only one type of behaviour. The other three are Separation, Integration, and Marginalization — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:8084:25C0:380:24E3:80A5:3A16:8FBA (talk) 15:02, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
"Social distancing" should not redirect here
Social distancing is a term applied to certain actions that are taken by Public Health officials to stop or slow down the spread of a highly contagious disease. It has nothing to do with social distance. Cmacauley (talk) 17:25, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Update
Working on an update aimed to do the following: 1) include a history section 2) connect to work on psychological distance 3) list some major lines of work showing implications Rbasyouni (talk) 01:44, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
Update mostly complete. Need to make corrections to dates on citations, and to re-order the in-text citations.
Suggestions: 1) add more theoretical implications 2) incorporate relevant work from anthropology 3) combine with the page on Simmel's Stranger 4) combine with the page on the social distance corollary 5) list under psychology too — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbasyouni (talk • contribs) 08:58, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
Note: also, it looks like there isn't a page on psychological distance. Maybe the construal level theory page should be a part of a larger psychological distance page? There is a short section on psychological distance at the bottom of the "distance" page.
