Does editing by a registered editor without logging amount to Sock puppetry?117.195.71.191 (talk) 19:38, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

If the editor has been block/banned, it's block evasion, at least. I dream of horses (T) @ 20:17, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
The question above, and other contributions by the IP, tie in with the contributions of Nameisnotimportant at Talk:Kurmi and at Wikipedia:Ani#Kurmi_page_protection. I wonder if that user has, ironically, forgotten to log in? - Sitush (talk) 20:31, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
To my knowledge, if the IP disassociates the username for the purpose of giving the false impression that the contributions are from different people, it would be an example of sock puppetry. Unintentionally failing to log in is not in itself sock puppetry and can even justify revdel if the logged in user wishes to remove the link to otherwise private information. +1 to above. Policy has always been clear that intent to sock is never presumed from merely editing from one's IP. Daniel Case (talk) 21:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
No violating any block or ban, no giving an impression that the contributions are from two people, if someone wants a little peace and the comfort of anonymity?117.195.71.191 (talk) 22:42, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
