editI don't get why the proposed deletion nominator claims the source is unreliable. It is authored by Joseph Mellor, an eminent chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society. Admittedly, he does say "according to..." somebody else, but I found two more recent sources mentioning the substance. This one "Samples of CYP119-II for XAS studies were prepared by mixing at 0–5C equal amounts of an ≈1.4 mM solution of CYP119 in 500 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) in ≈70:30 water-ethylene glycol with a basic solution of sodium peroxynitrate" and this "The common regulators are sodium chloride (NaCl), sodium peroxynitrate (NaNO 4 ), potassium chloride (KCl), potassium sulfate (K 2 SO 4 ) ammonium chloride (NH 4 Cl) and so on..." - @Spinningspark: The first source you bring up does have the word 'peroxynitrate' in it, but it seems to be a typo when you check ref 24. It actually seems to be mentioning peroxynitrite. The second source had no evidence that this compound exists. The original source is unreliable as it presents no crystallographic data and he says "according to...". - The person Mellor is citing is Sebastian Moiseevich Tanatar who likewise appears to be both notable and reliable. The very fact that Mellor reports his work is indicative that Mellor considers him reliable. Where is it written that lack of crystallographic information is evidence of non-existence? - There's no point talking about notability if you are still challenging existence. Even if this is not notable (and I reserve judgement on that) in accordance with WP:PRESERVE we should find a suitable merge target for the material.

Right, yet another synonym "peroxonitric" was needed. Ok, no solid salts are known, but that is a vague basis to dismiss Mellor on. It remains possible that the discovery is an overlooked piece of work by the Russian Tanatar. We can still mention in the peroxynitrate article that Tanatar made this claim without giving an opinion on its veracity. Unless there is a source that explicitly states that Tanatar was mistaken.
