Even though the Belly Up Tavern is a "commercial interest" as stated by Gohiking, it is a famous music venue in San Diego county and it seems appropriate to include it as a place of interest. Shall it be restored?
- I need a little more justification why it should be singled out any more so than any other business in Solano Beach. I lived there for 3 years and never went inside the place. For comparison on the San Diego City page, you don't see listings for Dick's Last Resort or other Gaslight District venues. I'm sure it's a nice place, but shouldn't be on the city page unless it is considered synonymous with the city. Gohiking 14:31, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I also have never been there yet I have heard of it. Perhaps what is needed is a section on the Cedros district that could include a passing reference. North Coast Repertory is also fairly famous. 71.136.63.14 02:24, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Just because you didn't go there doesn't mean it isn't noteworthy! Many world famous musicians regularly play at the Belly Up (The Mighty Diamonds, Henry Rollins, The English Beat, The Specils, Hepcat, Alejandro Escovedo,Los Lobos, Pato Banton, Dick Dale, Camper Van Beethoven, Junior Reid, Mikey Dread, Minus The Bear, Dinosaur Jr, Pinback, B.B. King, and The Aggrolites are just some of the bands that have recently played there). I lived in NYC for 10 years and I never went into CBGBs. That doesn't mean that CBGbs isn't worth of a note on wiki. 71.10.231.110 (talk) 23:30, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
