page needs an urgent update! The project in US, as planned, failed resulting in a crash of 60% of the shares! Members of the board are indicted for fraud for their former activities. The condition of the company seems to be very critical, see the news in major German newspapers http://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/0,1518,780512,00.html http://www.topnews.de/solar-millennium-kurs-bricht-um-60-prozent-ein-398365 http://www.welt.de/print/die_welt/wirtschaft/article13555414/Aktionaere-fliehen-aus-Solarfirma.html http://www.faz.net/artikel/C31640/solar-millennium-anleihenglaeubiger-muessen-auf-gelingen-der-neuausrichtung-hoffen-30487897.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.3.245.114 (talk) 21:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Solar Panels Start to Outshine Mirrors; As prices for photovoltaic cells tumble, developers are abandoning solar thermal plants October 13, 2011, 5:00 PM EDT by Ben Sills; excerpt ...

In the past two years developers have switched nine thermal projects with about 4.5 gigawatts of capacity to solar panels, energy consultancy GTM Research reports. In August, Germany’s Solar Millennium (SMLNF) made the change at a $2.9 billion plant 200 miles east of Los Angeles. Then on Oct. 6 the company sold all four of its U.S. projects to another German company, Solarhybrid (SHL), which said it planned to shift the entire operation to panels. Solar Millennium said it sold the plants to focus on thermal in other countries.
