Talk:Solna

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

The link to Järva is wrong. It points to a different Järva.

The article in Swedish Wikipedia on Frösunda says this is a new part of Solna, and does not mention that it belongs to any of the others. This article does not mention Frösunda, so there is some inconsistency there..... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.36.68.1 (talk) 12:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Name of article? Why not Solna, Sweden

edit

Is really "Solna Municipality" the best name for this article? Since Solna is a disambiguation page it would seem that "Solna, Sweden" (in similarity to Solna, Poland) would be a more suitable. The article could reasonably cover both the word's meaning as municipality and city/named part of the Stockholm conurbation (in difference to svwiki where there are separate sv:Solna and sv:Solna kommun articles). Actually, if the present name is kept, the M in municipality should not be capitalised in the title. Tomas e (talk) 12:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The standard format for Swedish municipalities on Wikipedia is "X Municipality", as in Stockholm Municipality cmp to Stockholm. The standard should not be broken by moving one article, and standard should not be changed before consensus has been established for it.

OK, so this means that the article corresponding to Stockholm rather than Stockholm Municipality should be called Solna, Sweden and in fact is missing? Tomas e (talk) 22:13, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
In Sweden there is normally a great difference between the localities which are non-administrative built-up areas and the municipalities which are the political and administrative entities. You can see that when you compare e.g. Kungsbacka and Kungsbacka Municipality. The actual town or city is an integral part of the municipality and not an entity of its own. In the case of some Stockholm suburbs it is, however, the other way round. Solna Municipality is a part of Stockholm urban area. --Muniswede (talk) 14:45, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
