This is an interesting page but where's the information about Song Moo Kwan? The rest of the Taekwondo history is all well and good but its not Song Moo Kwan. I've been trying to find out more for the past 20 years and everything that's posted here is old.

Where is the Korean headquarters of Song Moo Kwan? How do you contact them (in English)? Who are the Grandmasters and Masters? Where are they? What are their stories? Kwan Young-Eun —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.71.245 (talk) 19:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

"fraternal social friendship club"?

Could whomever inserted that not-very-NPOV comment clarify what you mean? I think you're mistaken, given that Grand Master Roh's son runs a reasonably decent songmookwan gym in Minneapolis and has for 20 years or more, teaching the taekook, palgye, and jungbong forms on the path to first dan. --Dan 17:08, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure, KANG, Won Shik, the current President of Song Moo Kwan has been the head of the Kwan ever since Grandmaster Roh left Korea. Hee Sang runs his own World Song Moo Kwan. And even that, he follows pretty much the Kukkiwon method. He personally may keep some of the old SMK practices going in his schools, however, these were officially abandoned by SMK in the mid 1970's, when SMK and all the Kwan's officially dissolved as martial arts systems - merging into their unified creation called the Kukkiwon, and going underground as strictly social clubs.

I believe you read Hangul/Hanmoon? I could send you a scan of a Korean language SMK history written by the current SMK President if you like.

Song Moo Kwan has an annual reunion every year in Seoul. If you are from SMK, you should try and attend at least once in your life. - Bigzilla
