editSophia Grojsman (born March, 1945) is an American perfumer who has created some of the most admired and recognizable fragrances in the world for the past thirty years. Among the many world's best-selling fragrances that Sophia Grojsman has created, the perfumer's personal favorites are Yves Saint Laurent Paris, Eternity Calvin Klein, Lancome Tresor, the fragrance for the First Lady laura Bush, and the constantly evolving scent of 100% Love.
Sophia Grojsman started her life in Belarus, a former Soviet state. Her family moved to Poland when she was fifteen, and she received a Bachelor of Science degree in analytical inorganic chemistry there. In 1965, Sophia Grojsman immigrated to the United States and a year later began to work at International Flavors and Fragrances as a lab assistant.
In 1994, Sophia Grojsman received Cosmetic Executive Women's Achiever Award for her lifetime contributions to perfumery. She also received the Living Legend Award by the American Society of Perfumers in 1996, and again in 1999 Sophia Grojsman was honored by the Cosmetic Executive Women for her lifetime achievements in the fragrance industry.
