editWhy is it called 'Catastrophe of Zalongo', and not 'Ali-Souliote War' or something like this?Alexikoua (talk) 08:20, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Bah, I guess this is the most known name. The term Catastrhophe of Zalongo is well-known at least in Albania, but I guess the same should be in Greece too.Balkanian`s word (talk) 08:30, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Can you support your claims or is it just another orgument?Alexikoua (talk) 09:40, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well something's really weird with this title, since 'Catastrophe of Zallongo' is only a small fraction of the article and it's not the central part I propose to change the title to: "Souliote War (1803)"Alexikoua (talk) 00:11, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
- I've done some copy editting in this article, corrected some weird against wp:nc names of persons and towns, also added that Ali Pasha was a Muslim Albanian ruler of Ottoman Epirus (I don't understand why this is always neglected). The title however is still irrelevant with the main events this article describes. Also the 'Catastrophe of Zalongo' main event is already described in 'Dance of Zalongo'.Alexikoua (talk) 00:27, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Proposed move
editCatastrophe of Zalongo → Souliote War (1803)
I've already explained above that the article describes the conflict between Souliotes and Ali Pasha. The Zalongo incident is just a tiny fraction at the end of the article and can be covored inside the article Dance of Zalongo.
Also according to gbooks and google the armed conflicts between Souliotes and Ali Pasha's troops are named Souliote Wars [[1]][[2]]. So the move is reasonable.Alexikoua (talk) 21:02, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- Agree in principle. There is nothing wrong with having an article specifically dedicated to the Zalongo episode, since it is an enduring image in Greek (and apparently Albanian) national mythology, but the present article attempts to portray the entire conflict.
