POV-fork?

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is just a copy and paste of a chunk from Occupation of Poland (1939–1945), thus a POV fork of an existing article ander a move POVed name. Or is there anything else here? --Irpen 01:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I would really suggest you try to write some articles, this would help you to gain perspective and understanding on how they are created. Perhaps we could allow editors some time to move and adjust content and summarize the original in the parent before we go around pouncing and nominating stuff for deletion? This sort of chewing up of editors' time to respond to yet another thing somewhere instead of working on content doesn't contribute to WP. I think this is valuale content and should be edited rather than deleted. The story of what happened in Poland during and after the war is credible history, well documented, and should be available to WP users. [user: siteobserver, 21 February 2008]

Dear anon, no one call for the deletion of this "valuable content" which could still use a lot of NPOVing. This content will stay well at its original location at Occupation of Poland (1939–1945). You can find it there and improve further. It was pasted from there in the inflammatory title with no good purpose and created a classic POV-fork. --Irpen 05:55, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Post-"liberation" persecutions

Jewish collaboration

Can someone include data on the unusually high level of Jews involved in the repressions against gentile Poles? That is relevant both for 1939-1941 and past 1944. It doesn't belong to the "Exploitation of ethnic tensions" since left-winged Jewish groups collaborated spontaneously since 17.09.1939.

Can you guys stop being so antisemitic and try to find a source thatt doesn't blame jews for things they didn't do? this page reads like a nazi explenation for shooting jews for their "partisan" activities. Deleted "official" from Russian stance on apologies

I had to delete the word "official" because the reference said "...along the lines of 'we freed you from Nazism, be greatful," which is obviously not official. I have removed unsourced statement Upon resumption of Polish-Soviet diplomatic relations in 1941, it was determined (based on Soviet information) that more than 760,000 deportees had died, though this number is disputed and the real number is thought to be lower.. Hysterical language, false use of sources

I have am undoing this: [3]. This edit introduced hysterical language, presented an old and discredited estimate of 500,000 as mainstream, and falsified several sources: for instance presenting 150,000 estimated deaths from 1939-45 as 1939-41 only. Or the ridiculous charge of "treason against the Polish state" in areas annexed by the USSR directed at Jews, Belorussians, and Ukrainians. You made a lot of changes, and they need to be discussed individually. Just to start from something, the phrase "Both regimes were hostile to the Second Polish Republic..." seems to be perfectly sourced and factually correct. Why remove? My very best wishes (talk) 15:40, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

The source of that statement is a book review, not an actual source. In any event, Nazis are irrelevant here. Many different countries are or were hostile to Poland, no need to mention them all. OK, I think your changes are better now. A book or a review can be used for sourcing. No, the Nazi are relevant because the actions by Nazi and USSR with regard to Poland were coordinated. That's why sources mention them both. My very best wishes (talk) 21:41, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

A better source should be included in the infobox regarding "1,700,000 Poles deported to Siberia in 1939-1941"

When I click the reference, I'm redirected to a tour guide for visiting Germany with no mentions of Polish deportations. Aleena98 (talk) 23:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

The claim of 1.7 million Poles deported to Siberia doesn't match the source cited

So clicking on the archived link, the number of Poles deported was revised down to 320,000 from 1 million. This 1.7 million number is so clearly wrong on its face I knew it was being used for propaganda purposes. It removes any credibility from this article. 74.211.29.27 (talk) 19:42, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

Please do remove the sentence "Altogether the Soviets sent roughly a million people from Poland to Siberia" as well as its citations from the "Mass Deportations to the East" section if the newer estimate of deportees is said to be 320k at the archived link.

Otherwise leave an estimate along the lines of 320k to 1 million Poles deported in the top right box if the numbers remains that uncertain. Tooketh (talk) 14:33, 25 December 2023 (UTC)

 Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Two directions have been given: one is to remove a sentence containing an estimate, while the second direction is to "otherwise leave an estimate".
