Largest ever built

edit

Why the part about being among the largest ever built? They are about the same size as the US WWII fleet sub, and are dwarfed by the Japanese I-400 class. Rees11 (talk) 17:37, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Where is she now?

edit

Can anybody confirm where B-39 is?
The article here says she is in San Diego, having served in the Pacific Fleet; this says she was in the Baltic, and is now at Chatham (!). A confused Xyl 54 (talk) 06:00, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think there are two B-39's both deactivated on April 1, 1994 - one went to San Diego and one went to London, UK in July 1994 also converted into a museum ship and now is in the River Medway near Chatham/Rochester. See also http://www.sovietsub.co.uk/about.html
The one in the River Medway is still floating, apart from the giant hole in its side! See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2590062
This really needs to be sorted out - was going to edit the page to add all the medway stuff !!!!!!!!DavidAnstiss (talk) 11:19, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

According to the website, the B-39 Russian Foxtrot-Class Cobra Submarine moved from Seattle, WA to the Maritime Museum of San Diego, CA. The address is provided in the links on the article page, along with contact information: http://www.sdmaritime.org/b-39-submarine/
It's too bad that it moved 1000 miles south; it'll be a long time before I get the chance to see it now.

Thanks (belatedly!) for the comments, gents. I've tried to clarify this by making a page on the boat in the Medway and cross-linking them. Any information on the Medway boat would be welcome! Xyl 54 (talk) 15:05, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Name

This article says she was called "Black Widow" at one time; can anyone confirm this? Has someone confused this one with the boat in the Medway which is also labelled "B-39" (and is likely to be a confusion with this one)? Xyl 54 (talk) 15:01, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
