Space gun (disambiguation) → Space Gun – Per WP:DIFFCAPS ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). BegbertBiggs (talk) 17:18, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- multiple entries in this dab are lowercase. (t · c) buidhe 04:21, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Buidhe: I removed one entry, which had absolutely zero mention in the target of a "space gun". The other is the main article.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 20:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- I restored and tidied that entry. If an astronaut's Hand-Held Maneuvering Unit is sometimes informally called a space gun, then that is a valid use to list there. Whether to obey this move request depends on whether two Wikipedia articles can be allowed to have names that differ only by case of component letters: here "Space Gun" and "Space gun". - Oppose. I'm pretty sure I've seen cases before where 'the only difference is caps' was deemed not enough, and - as is obvious - there are multiple subjects here with both caps. Now, that said, the redirect Space Gun should redirect here, not to Space gun.. - The Bushranger One ping only 17:33, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it should: I boldly changed the target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 15:22, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yes capitalization often isn't sufficient to have 2 different capitalizations pointing to different articles but in this case its an article v no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:16, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support. After clean-up, there are only 3 articles that are called or might otherwise be called variants of "space gun", and 2 have upper-case titles. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 15:22, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support although the general topic does get more views (3,566) than the album (159) and video game (408)[[1]] its reasonable to assume that someone capitalizing isn't much more likely to be looking for the general meaning so the 1st line is sufficient for those looking for it away.
