Delete Article
editThe whole point of this article is deceiving. It is under "Napoleon's creations," as one of Napoleon's invented republics and confederations. All Spain was under Napoleon was his brother placed on the throne. No new state was created. Either this article be deleted or renamed "Spain under Napoleon." --128.227.78.197 (talk) 06:53, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Incorrect Map
editThe map gives the false impression that Napoleon actually conquered and ruled all of Spain. Most of the west coast and parts of the south including Cadiz were never conquered or controlled by Napoleon and remained the last fortresses of independent Spain.--128.227.78.197 (talk) 06:50, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
After the first couple of paragraphs this becomes a dreadfully written article in need of a serious clean up. I imagine the majority of this was written by a non-English speaking person, very poor grammar verging on the indecipherable at times. It also lacks sources and just from a brief read I can see multiple false claims, lots of weasel wording and heavy POV pushing. Will set to work on it soon.Gaius Octavius Princeps (talk) 21:53, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Copy edit of first half; Needs help from person with dual fluency
editI have completed a copy edit of the first half of this article, and it's in pretty good shape. The second half looks like a machine translation, and it needs more than a copy edit. It needs attention from someone who speaks both Spanish and English and can compare the source to the translation. I'm going to remove the CopyEdit tag and re-tag it as WP:PNTCU. I'll be happy to come back and edit it once the content makes reasonable sense. Feel free to put a note on my talk page when it is ready for proofreading / copy editing. I speak some Spanish, so if there are small sections that you just can't figure out, make a note and I'll take a look at them. Jonesey95 (talk) 05:15, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
- I am willing to edit that second half, though I might do that tomorrow. Fordx12 (talk) 01:50, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95, You said that this is a machine translation of es:España durante la Guerra de Independencia Española but really this article should correspond to es:España napoleónica and is also part of the History of Spain series. I am working on it now ... Thanks, Anand (talk page) 14:06, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- I give up. There is no point in copy-editing this stuff. The problem is not the bad translation. The problem is lack of citations. Eventually all of this will have to be replaced by text from a good and citable source. Thanks, Anand (talk page) 19:19, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
Problems with the article
edit- The article should be re-written from the ground-up with careful attention to citations. Knowledge of Spanish history is required.
- There are two corresponding articles in the Spanish Wikipedia - es:España napoleónica and es:España durante la Guerra de Independencia Española.
- This article is a part of two different series -
