- Unbolded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- How about add the city and/or country where the event was held
- "One of four speed skating events to be contested at these Games, this was the first event ever contested at the Winter Olympics" - close reptition of the word "event"
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Summary
edit- "He did not attend Chamonix but word failed to reach Games organisers in time." - how about He did not enter the Chamonix event and his withdrawal was not communicated to the organisers of the Games in time.?
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "Mathisen himself was unable to attend the Games due to his status as a professional." - a bit of a WP:LIMITED violation in the text in bold and should be changed
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "The Americans contested metric events at Saranac Lake where Jewtraw clocked 46.6s." - better to pass WP:LIMITED took part in metric competitions at Saranac Lake, where Jewtraw set a time of 46.6 seconds
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "bettered Moore's time by 0.6 second" - can be changed to either 0.6 seconds or six-tenths of a second
- Changed – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "He also set a new world record in the 100 yard event in 9.4 seconds. Whilst Roald Larsen of Norway skated 44.6s in Frogner." - these two sentences can be merged into one
- Merged – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "skated 44.6s in Frogner." - 44.6 seconds
- "The Canadian took the lead, but was soon overtaken by Jewtraw finishing in a time of a 44 seconds flat." - before he was soon
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "finishing in a time of a 44 seconds flat." - you don't need to include the word "flat" in this portion of text
- Removed – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "He had retired before the 1924 Games but made a comeback to compete." - how about but returned to the sport to compete in France. to avoid close paraphrasing with the sporting reference reference used to verify it
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- "After the gold medal, he skated two more Olympic races before retiring once more." - this sentence is entriely a copy from the sporting reference source used to verify it and will need to be written to pass WP:LIMITED
- Reworded – Ianblair23 (talk) 05:43, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Overall the main issues with the article concern the prose and there are some instances of close paraphrasing of the sources that need to be addressed. On hold. MWright96 (talk) 09:14, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi MWright96, thanks for the review. I will address these points in the next couple of days. Cheers – Ianblair23 (talk) 13:18, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

- I think it would be good to include an external link to a youtube-videolink posted by Library and Archives Canada like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9pEvCWoOzU&feature=youtu.be&t=3m38s for showing the rink during the olympics and some of the races recorded on film.
